The Oxford Tavern Raises Money With Apparel To Help Out Of Work Casuals Affected By Lockdown
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE, SYDNEY: There’s no denying the effects of an extended lockdown are being felt across Sydney, with the hospitality industry and its workers being some of the hardest hit.
Countless people have had their shifts reduced, and face growing uncertainty around what Sydney will look like as we exit the lockdown.
That’s why the team at The Oxford Tavern in Petersham wanted to do something different and help its casual staff who have lost their hours due to the lockdowns.
Alongside its menu, people ordering online are able to also purchase an Oxford Tavern “Stiff Drinks & BBQ” tee for $40, with 100% of the proceeds going towards helping affected staff.
So far, with the help of its generous community, The Tav has raised $1,475, which will hopefully increase in the coming week.
With the money raised, The Oxford Tavern will be sending grocery care packs to its affected staff, with items like canned goods, pasta, veggies and a few lux items thrown in for good measure.
Odd Culture Group Operations Manager Jenna Phillips says:
“With another week ahead of us it is important that we reach out and check on our staff at this time. We will continue to sell the tees throughout lockdown, with all proceeds going to help our staff who need it most. We need to look out for each other.”
The tees are available to purchase through Oxford Tavern’s delivery portal with any food purchase, or just on its own. It’s also available for pick-up from the pub.
