Business Development Manager
Odd Culture Group seeks a well-organised Business Development Manager to join its dynamic and progressive head office team. Our Group operates five Sydney venues, concentrated across the Inner-West and City area, with interstate venue projects underway.
If you have business development experience in a hospitality, tourism and/or accommodation context, are a self-starter who can work independently and has drive, ambition, and motivation to develop our sales department, we’d love to chat!

About the role
Our Group is on a strong and steady growth trajectory, and requires the expertise of a talented BDM to address these outcomes:
- Develop business relationships and strategies to attract new leads
- Work collaboratively with our marketing and PR agencies
- Increase overall event sales, to meet monthly and annual targets and create growth trends
- Develop a CRM in our existing project management suite to handle business and retail customer leads
- Work with our executive management team to build outstanding guest experiences, from initial contact to managing events in venue
- Convert enquiries to bookings, perform site visits to securely convert prospective guests into sales
- Work closely with the executive team to develop Event & Function Packages suitable for each venue, and identify ways in which we can increase spend
- Answering some incoming calls and presenting a professional and friendly first point of contact for our guests
- Responding to group enquiry emails
- Ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction and relationship building
Necessary experience:
- Sales or events in a hospitality context
- An understanding of CRM and developing a sales funnel
- Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written
- G Suite or other cloud office experience
Great to have, but not a deal-breaker:
- Sevenrooms experience or similar booking software is strongly preferred
- Experience with CRM & Project management systems, especially ClickUp, strongly preferred
- Design experience preferred
- EDM and database management preferred
